Congratulations to
MONARCH'S THOR, the 2008 &
2009 Spanish-Norman Horse Registry High Point Award winner,
for outstanding success in the dressage arena.
On June 17-19, 2011, over
200 horses competed in the Green Mountain Horse Association,
sixth annual June Dressage Show in South Woodstock, Vermont.
The USEF/USDF Level 3
competition held classes in four rings each day, with tests
from Introductory Level through Grand Prix. This show was a
qualifier for the United States Dressage Federation Region 8
Championships, as well as all USEF national programs.
Monarch's Thor, with trainer
Keith Angstadt of the Bradford Equestrian Center, earned the
Third Level Open High Score of the Show Award and won the
Fourth Level High Score Award for one of the
days.

Monarch's Thor is owned by Sandra
Austin of Middleton, Massachusetts. The breeder of the 1998
Spanish-Norman gelding is Bernice Parker of Sporthorse Canada
in Sasketchewan, Canada.
Sandra Austin found Thor on a small
farm in Texas and purchased him as a safe trail horse that
would be taught some basic dressage. According to his owner:
"This particular 'Medievel War Horse' was not a Brave
Heart on the trails, but he exceeded all my expectations in
dressage arena."
He worked through Second and Third
Levels, consistently placing 1st or 2nd. At the New England
Association 2009 Year End Awards, Monarch's Thor took 6th
place in Second Level
Open.

breed: excellent temperament, presence and exceptional performance
ability. According to Thor's trainer Keither
Angstadt: "Thor's natural competitiveness, personality and work
ethic shine through every time he enters the
arena."
We look forward to Monarch's
Thor's continued dressage achievements and his career when the
Spanish-Norman Horse Registry will be a participating organization
