Spanish-Norman Mare
Linda and Allan Hamid of the Spanish-Norman
Horse Registry, Inc., Woodbury, Connecticut are pleased to announce the
winner of the 2000 Spanish-Norman High Point Award: the
Spanish-Norman mare, Victoria of Fox Run, owned by Victoria McIntire and
Ronald Phillips of Fox Run Farm, Richmond, Kentucky.

The impressive trophy, a rendition of the medieval knight and charger, depicts the heritage of the noble breed, "the warhorse of the ages as the sporthorse of today." The annual trophy is awarded to the Spanish-Norman earning the highest number of points by demonstrating the breed at equine events, competing in Open Dressage and at All Breed shows, as well as competing in Half-Andalusian classes at shows sponsored by the International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association. The 1993 Spanish-Norman mare Victoria of Fox Run was sired by the premier Spanish-Norman Horse Registry, Inc. foundation stallion, Hamid Hill Farm's Andalusian, the late Embajador IX, imported from Spain. Her dam was Fox Run Farm's registered Percheron mare Monkoncarlaet Piper.
Victoria of Fox Run will represent the Spanish-Norman breed at the Equine Affaire in Columbus, Ohio, April 5-8, 2001. Along with the I.A.L.H.A. Andalusians, the mare will give daily demonstrations and will be ridden by Rebecca Newton in the Pfizer Fantasia on Friday and Saturday nights. Victoria of Fox Run will surely continue to attract new aficionados to the Spanish-Norman breed. We extend our thanks and warmest wishes for continued success to the owners/breeders of this special Spanish-Norman mare.
